ALEXANDRIA, LA- The Generals have extended their win streak to 6 games in a row as they move to a conference record of 6-3 as they swept the Gold Nuggets of Xavier in doubleheader action at home.
Game One: LSUA 10, Xavier 6
Taylor Spencer pitched all 7 innings for the Generals adding another win to her pitching record allowing only 13 hits from the Gold Nuggets, striking out six.
The Gold Nuggets were able to hold a short lead of 2-0 to start the game off, but once the Generals bats got hot, the runs rolled in, and they were able to maintain the lead until the 4
th inning.
Tied up at 6-6, both teams looking to pull ahead, ultimately it was the Generals who came out on top as they put up four runs in the 6
th inning with the help of Howell bringing in two Generals and a homerun from
Tia Holmes.
Game Two: LSUA 12, Xavier 4
Generals were able to take game two in just six innings as they put up 5 of their twelve runs in that inning. Left fielder, Ke'Aisa St. Julien, went 3-for-3, that included a two-run single in the sixth inning that ended the game early because of the eight-run rule.
Savannah Boyd was able to take over in the circle during the 3
rd inning of the game allowing only two hits and adding a win to her pitching record for the 2023 season.
Jillian Howell had 6 total RBIs in the double header action between the Generals and Gold Nuggets, four of the six happened in game two.
Next up for the Generals will be a matchup between them and the Steers of Texas College on the road on March 28
th, 2023. First pitch is set to be thrown at 2:00 PM in Tyler, TX.
