Generals Finding a Rhythm in Conference Play

ALEXANDRIA, LA- The Generals have extended their win streak to 6 games in a row as they move to a conference record of 6-3 as they swept the Gold Nuggets of Xavier in doubleheader action at home.

Game One: LSUA 10, Xavier 6

Taylor Spencer pitched all 7 innings for the Generals adding another win to her pitching record allowing only 13 hits from the Gold Nuggets, striking out six.

The Gold Nuggets were able to hold a short lead of 2-0 to start the game off, but once the Generals bats got hot, the runs rolled in, and they were able to maintain the lead until the 4th inning.

Tied up at 6-6, both teams looking to pull ahead, ultimately it was the Generals who came out on top as they put up four runs in the 6th inning with the help of Howell bringing in two Generals and a homerun from Tia Holmes.

Game Two: LSUA 12, Xavier 4

Generals were able to take game two in just six innings as they put up 5 of their twelve runs in that inning. Left fielder, Ke'Aisa St. Julien, went 3-for-3, that included a two-run single in the sixth inning that ended the game early because of the eight-run rule.

Savannah Boyd was able to take over in the circle during the 3rd inning of the game allowing only two hits and adding a win to her pitching record for the 2023 season.

Jillian Howell had 6 total RBIs in the double header action between the Generals and Gold Nuggets, four of the six happened in game two.

Next up for the Generals will be a matchup between them and the Steers of Texas College on the road on March 28th, 2023. First pitch is set to be thrown at 2:00 PM in Tyler, TX.
