Generals Escape Xavier in Double-Header Action

NEW ORLEANS, LA- The Generals have moved to 12-6 in RRAC Conference play as they completed the sweep, going 3-0, against Xavier.

After a 7-4 win in the single game on Friday, the teams faced off again on Saturday for double-header action that kept everyone on their toes.

Game one: LSUA 15, XULA 11

In game one of the double-headers, the Generals were able to come out on top with the 15-11 win even after Xavier had four big innings of play putting up all 11 of their runs. However, the Generals were able to work, including homeruns from Ardoin, Daigle, and Foote, early as they scored their 15th and final run in the 7thinning.

Game two: LSUA 12, XULA 7

Game two was another thriller as it was Xavier who got on board first in the 2nd inning, but scoring on a wild pitch, Josh Tinnerello was able to tie the game 1-1 in the 3rd before the Generals got hot in the 5th inning take the lead 5-1. However, the Gold Rush wasn't going away that easy as they tied up the game in the 6th and took the lead 6-5 in the 7th.

Game changing play in the 8th inning as Jordan Ardoin stole home to tie the game back up and spark the Generals offense as Thibodeau scored on a wild pitch taking the lead 7-6. Generals were able to pull away and seal the win in the last inning of play scoring five of their 12 runs.

Next up for the Generals, are the Saints from Our Lady of the Lake with the three-game series starting on Friday April 7th
