ALEXANDRIA, LA- In a game day like no other in The Fort, the Generals took on the cross-town rivals, the Wildcats of LCU, cruising off with the 71-47 victory.
Generals made their statement in the first quarter of play, dropping in 24 of their 71 points to let the Wildcats know they meant business. As the game progressed, the
Generals continued to build off their lead, and the bench was also able to make a huge impact on the game as they put up 28 points compared to LCU's bench who only contributed 8 points.
Junior,
Benedetta Peracchi, had the money ball for the night as she posted her season high of 18 points, and she also had four blocks with 6 rebounds.
Blair Smith, freshman forward, also saw double-digits posting 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Next up for the Generals is the Pilots of LSUS to begin the second round of Red River Athletic Conference play. With LSUS being the Generals only conference loss thus far, the Generals will be looking to defend The Fort and give LSUS their first conference loss. Tip-off on Thursday, January 25
th will take place at 5:30 PM.
