ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team hosts its final two home matches of the regular season against the University of Houston-Victoria and Huston-Tillotson University.
"Thursday is a big game for us in terms of climbing the table," LSUA Head Coach
Mark Hammond said. "We always know that facing UHV is a battle and a really competitive match. We have to take each game as they come. Saturday will be another battle. HT won't make it easy for us but the squad is moving in the right direction. Hopefully we can give the seniors a great send off."
The Generals (5-4-2, 4-1-2 RRAC) were 0-1-1 last week. They fell to Louisiana State University Shreveport, 2-0, on Thursday, before drawing against Texas A&M-Texarkana on Saturday, 3-3.
LSUA currently sits sixth in the conference table.
SCOUTING HOUSTON-VICTORIA
The Jaguars enter the week with a record of 8-2-0 and a 5-2-0 mark in Red River Athletic Conference play. They have won their last three matches, allowing only one goal. Away from home this year, UHV is 5-0-0.
Kylee Spree-Kolos leads the Jaguars' offense with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points. She has recorded three game-winning goals and converted one penalty. Estelle Flanagan has tallied five goals and one assist. Aoife Saunders, Luz Capuchino, and Kaitlyn McCarty have all scored at least two goals. Alva Klockare leads the Jaguars with five assists. UHV has scored 34 goals and allowed only 12.
In goal, Hayli Nichols and Franciezca Blancaflor have split duties. Each has made five starts on the season and allowed six goals. Blancaflor has made 16 saves and holds a goals against average of 1.43, while Nichols has made 11 stops and has a goals against average of 1.09.
Since 2018, the Generals are 3-3-2 against UHV. They have won the last two meetings in 2022 and 2023.
Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, at the Generals Soccer Field.

SCOUTING HUSTON-TILLOTSON
The Rams are 2-6-1 overall and 1-4-1 in RRAC play. Prior to Saturday's match, HT squares off against Louisiana Christian on Thursday. The Rams are 1-3-1 on the road and drew against Southwest, 2-2, last week.
Hutson-Tillotson is averaging 1.78 goals per game. Alondra Quiroz and Cheyanna Burnett-Griffith are tied for the team lead in points with six. Quiroz leads the Rams with three goals. The Rams have scored 16 goals as a team and have converted both of their penalty opportunities.
Juliet Morales-Martinez has started all nine games in goal for Huston-Tillotson. She has allowed 21 goals and made 49 saves with a goals against average of 2.78. The Rams have recorded a pair of clean sheets and allowed a total of 26 goals.
The Generals are 7-2-0 all-time against the Rams. LSUA has won the last two meetings against HT and have never lost when playing the Rams at home.
Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, at the Generals Soccer Field.

Admission to women's soccer games for spectators is free. The Generals Soccer Field is located on the back of LSUA's campus between Acorn Drive, Middleton Drive, and Tom Bowman Drive. Seating is located on the south side of the field. Game programs are available at the pitch.
Game Programs are available free of charge and can be found on the outside of the left ramp of the bleachers and in the center of the bleachers. Concessions are also available.
Saturday's match against Huston-Tillotson is Senior Day. The Generals will celebrate nine players who are appearing in their final season for LSUA prior to the start of the match.
