Men's Soccer Records 2-0 Win Over HTU on Senior Day

ALEXANDRIA, La. – A pair of goals from Pablo Dominguez de León lifted the Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team over Huston-Tillotson University, 2-0, on Senior Day.

"That's the most important part, to send the seniors off with a win," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. "Not our prettiest performance overall, but two goals in the first half, all of our seniors got on, everybody played, and we came away with three points. The seniors really deserve it and have been fantastic servants of the program, to send them off with that is really important."

The Generals (9-3-2, 7-0-2 RRAC) tallied fifteen shots, 12 of which came in the first half. They finished with six shots on goal. LSUA held the Rams (3-5-2, 2-5-1 RRAC) to just three shots.

Both of Dominguez de León's goals came in the first 10 minutes of play. The first came in the fourth minute, on a header from a free kick by Joshua Angel Craven.

The second came four-and-a-half minutes later. Angel Craven played a ball to Alfie Lee who turned and sent a low cross in to Dominguez de León for a one-time goal and a 2-0 lead.

LSUA dominated possession in the first half, controlling the ball for over 70-percent of the stanza.

The Generals nearly scored in the second minute, prior to Dominguez de León's first goal, on a chance from Adam Sherwood. His chance was stymied by a defender on the line.

In the waning moments of the first half the Generals had a pair of chances from Maximo Romagnoli and Lee, but both were turned aside by the keeper.

Dominguez de León's effort for a hat trick was denied by the Rams' keeper in the 66th minute, the final chance on goal for the Generals.

LSUA closes the season with four straight road matches, starting on Thursday, October 24, at Our Lady of the Lake. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
