Baumfalk Scores First Goal, Weber Earns Fourth Clean Sheet in 1-0 Victory Over OLLU

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hille Baumfalk's first career goal was all the Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team needed in a 1-0 victory over Our Lady of the Lake University.

The Generals (7-5-2, 6-2-2 RRAC) finished with 10 shots, eight on goal. The Saints (7-4-2, 6-3-1) totaled 11 shots with seven on goal.

"Really gritty away win today," LSUA Head Coach Mark Hammond said. "We took our chance in the first half and had a really good defensive performance in the second half. We're very happy with the performance and result today."

Victoria Weber made seven saves to earn her fourth clean sheet of the year. She was tested first in the third minute, keeping out a chance from Lyndee Rheinberger. A minute later, Rheinberger knocked on the door again and Weber answered. She made a third stop to keep the game scoreless in the 19th minute, denying a chance from Kaitlyn Olivas.

LSUA's first chance came in the 13th minute. Fenja Leibner's shot was turned aside by Samantha Valadez.

A shot from Alexia Bermejo Jo was parried by Valadez in the 26th minute. The rebound came out to Baumfalk, who buried the second effort.

Weber kept the margin in favor of the Generals two minutes later, keeping another chance from Olivas out.

The Generals had two late chances at goal in the first half from Micaela Nunes and Audrian Cruz, but both were kept out by Valadez. Nunes had a second chance in the 48th minute after the second half restart but Valadez denied the opportunity.

Late in the second half, Weber made a trio of stops over the course of seven minutes from the 73rd to 78th minute.

LSUA is back in action on Saturday, October 26, as they visit Texas A&M-San Antonio. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
