Men's Soccer Draws 2-2 to TAMUSA

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team drew against Texas A&M University-San Antonio, 2-2, in a Red River Athletic Conference match.

The Generals (10-3-3, 8-0-3 RRAC) finished with 11 shots, eight of which were on goal. The Jaguars (7-4-3, 6-3-2 RRAC) totaled six shots, five on target.

"Really tough game against a very good TAMUSA side," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. They tested us from minute one and made it difficult for us. The boys reacted well and showed the character we have seen all season to come back again. Disappointed not to get all three points. We'll get back to work on Monday."

A second minute goal from the Jaguars gave TAMUSA an early 1-0 advantage.

Searching for the equalizer, Adam Sherwood, Maximo Romagnoli, and Javier Moscardo combined for four shots on goal in the next 20 minutes but all were rebuffed by the Jaguars' keeper.

The Generals finally found their answer in the 35th minute. Pablo Dominguez de León buried his chance to level the score at 1-1.

Five minutes later, Sherwood found his way onto the score sheet for a 2-1 lead.

After the second half restart, the Jaguars found an equalizer of their own in the 58th minute.

Chances were few and far between in the second half. Mnqobi Mbili sent a wide in the 67th minute. Martin Carter Torres put one over the bar two minutes later. A chance from Moscardo in the 71st minute was turned away by the Jaguars' keeper.

LSUA is back on the road for the final two games of the regular season. The Generals travel to Xavier (La.) next week on Thursday, October 31, before closing the season at North American University on Saturday, November 2.
