NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana State University of men's soccer team 11-match unbeaten streak came to a halt against Xavier University of Louisiana in a 3-0 defeat.

Mackenzie Young said. "Xavier were the better side and I have to give them credit. Back to work tomorrow to prepare for a big game on Saturday."
The Generals (10-4-3, 8-1-3 RRAC) recorded 10 shots in the contest. XULA (11-3-1, 10-2-0 RRAC) finished with 11 shots, eight of which were on goal.
XULA found the score sheet early, taking a 1-0 in the fourth minute.
Tarlev kept it a one-goal game with four saves in the opening half, including making a pair of saves in less than 30 seconds in the 43
rd minute. He finished with five saves.
The Generals only shot on goal in the first half came from
Damian Kunc in the 22
nd minute off a corner kick. It was turned aside by Breno Zanolla.
Tarlev made his first save in the 30
th minute, before stymieing a second chance in the 37
th.
XULA unleashed four shots in less than 60 seconds in the 43
rd minute. Tarlev kept a pair of shots out during the fray, keeping the score at 1-0 as the half came to a close.
The Gold Nuggets found the back of the net twice in the second half. They went up 2-0 in the 62
nd minute before tacking on a third goal in the 75
th minute.
A 75
th minute opportunity for Pablo Dominguez de León was turned away by Zanolla to preserve XULA's clean sheet.
The Generals are back in action on Saturday, November 2, as they take on North American University in their regular season finale. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
