Men's Soccer Clinches No. 3 Seed, Takes Down NAU, 5-0

HOUSTON, Texas – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team closed the regular season with a 5-0 win over North American University.

The victory clinched the third seed in the 2024 RRAC Championship.

"The boys were excellent from start to finish," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. "We scored some great goals and closed out what was a really good conference season in style. Proud of our guys to bounce back the way they did after Thursday to prepare us for playoffs next week."

LSUA (11-4-3, 8-1-3 RRAC) scored a trio of goals in the first half, before adding two more in the back end. The Generals recorded 13 shots, 12 of which were on frame. They held the Stallions (5-10-2, 3-7-2 RRAC) to just five shots, only one of which was on target.

Charlie Moore ripped a shot from the right wing, which rang off the crossbar and over the line for a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute.

Four minutes later, Alife Lee converted a penalty for a 2-0 lead. The Generals weren't done in the opening 45 minutes. Sorley Youngs made his way into the score sheet in the 43rd minute for a 3-0 lead.

Valeriu Tarlev made his only save of the game in the 42nd minute, just prior to Youngs' goal.

Lee was called to the spot again in the 56th minute for his second penalty goal of the evening.

Tony Rivas scored the Generals' final goal, blasting  a shot from range past the keeper in the 77th minute. Adam Sherwood recorded the assist.
