ALEXANDRIA, La. – The No.12 Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball opens Red River Athletic Conference play at home against Jarvis Christian before heading on the road to face Texas A&M-Texarkana.
"We have a big game on Tuesday night," LSUA Head Coach Dimario Jackson said. "Jarvis' record doesn't tell who they really are as a team. They're a good basketball team. Coach Avery does a great job. We have to be ready to execute the game plan. Texarkana is athletic, they're skilled. They are going be physical defensively. Coach is doing a good job of having those guys ready to play. They have a great environment. We have to be ready to execute, be disciplined and tough for 40 minutes."
The Generals are coming off a 69-63 victory over No. 4 Freed-Hardeman.
Jakemin Abney scored 12 points in the second half to help LSUA stave off the Lions.
SCOUTING JARVIS CHRISTIAN
The Bulldogs are 0-3 on the season. They fell to Ottawa, 82-52, to open the season. They then dropped a pair of games to UNT Dallas, 58-50, and Wiley (TX), 63-60.
Jarvis Christian is averaging 54 points per game and shooting 36.5 percent from the floor. Erin Wright leads the Bulldogs' scoring at 10.7 points per game. He is shooting 34.5 percent from the floor. George Nwogu, Jamari Robertson, and Caleb Thompson are all averaging eight points per game. Robinson leads Jarvis Christian with 3.7 assists per game and has an assist to turnover ratio of 1.1.
Nwogu leads the rebounding effort, hauling in eight boards per game. Damarcus Johnson Jr. and Tariq Johnson are both averaging five rebounds. The Bulldogs are averaging 36.3 rebounds as a unit. Opponents are hauling in 41.7 boards per game.
The Generals are 19-0 against the Bulldogs all-time. They are 10-0 when playing Jarvis Christian in The Fort.

The Eagles are 1-1 on the season. They host LSU Shreveport on Tuesday, prior to facing the Generals on Saturday. They opened the season with a 76-50 win over Dallas Christian, before falling to Texas Wesleyan in overtime, 92-89.
TAMUT averages 82.5 points per game and are shooting 50.4 percent from the field, as well as 36.6 percent from deep. They average 7.5 threes per game. Deovaunta Williams leads the Eagles' scoring, averaging 22.5 points per game. Rodney Mason II is also averaging double digits in points at 12.5. Williams has knocked down 70.4 percent of his shots, while Mason II is shooting at a 64.3 clip. The Eagles are holding opponents to 71 points per game.
In the rebounding department, Justin Davis leads the Eagles at seven boards per night. Doreante Tucker, Daryl Houston, and Mason II are all averaging at least one offensive rebound. TAMUT is averaging 34.5 rebounds per game.
