TEXARKANA, Texas – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team takes on Xavier University (La.) in the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Final.
"We know we're in for a real battle on Thursday," LSUA Head Coach
Mark Hammond said. "There is a lot to play for with a trophy and a place in the national tournament on offer. We set our goals at the start of the season and this is where we want to be. We know how talented and well-coached Xavier are but we're in good form and are confident we can finish the job."
It is the second straight year the Generals have appeared in the final. They claimed the RRAC Championship title in 2023 with a 1-0 victory over LSU Shreveport. The Generals went through Xavier (La.) in the semifinals with a 2-0 victory.
"We've had a strong presence in the tournament reaching the final three years in a row," Hammond added. "Obviously, every year is different but we'll be pulling from past experience to help the players in the squad who are experiencing the tournament for the first time to help them settle in. A lot of this squad have been here before and I know having that experience helps."
