PREVIEW | Men's Basketball Travels to Xavier (La.), Hosts LCU in RRAC Matchups

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The No. 6 Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball takes on Xavier University of Louisiana and Louisiana Christian University in a pair of Red River Athletic Conference games.

LSUA won its only game last week over Texas College, 88-76. Jordan Decuir laid down a monster dunk in the second half, earning him NAIA Hoops Report Dunk of the Week.
 
SCOUTING XAVIER (LA.)
Xavier enters the week with a 4-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark in RRAC play. They have won their last four games, including three RRAC matchups with Texas A&M-San Antonio, North American, and Huston Tillotson. Last week, the Gold Rush took down North American, 68-58, on November 21, before rolling past Huston Tillotson, 70-48, on November 23.
 
The Gold Rush are averaging 70.7 points per game, while holding opponents to 63.7. They are also outshooting opponents 44.8 percent to 38.4 percent from the floor. Xavier's offense is led by Lance Williams, who is scoring at a clip of 16.3 points per game. Williams is shooting 49.3 percent from the floor and 82.6 percent at the free throw line. Seviuhn Turner (12.7) and James Weathers (11.5) are also averaging a double-digit scoring effort.
 
Corey Dunning leads Xavier's rebounding effort, hauling in 5.3 rebounds per game. He has totaled 32 rebounds, 11 of which have been off the offensive glass. Williams and Wayne Randall-Bashay are both averaging 4.7 rebounds per game. The Gold Rush hold a slight edge in rebounding against their opposition, 35-33.
 
The Generals are 2-2 against Xavier all-time. LSUA claimed both ends of the season series last season. The Generals climbed back from an 18-point deficit on January 12 in New Orleans for a 78-76 victory.
 
Tip-off is slated for 7:30 PM on Tuesday, November 26.

SCOUTING LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN
The Wildcats are 2-5 on the season, including a 1-3 record in RRAC play. They have lost three of their last four outings. Last week they took down Huston Tillotson, 64-48, on Thursday, before falling to North American, 70-69, on Saturday.
 
Devin Carter leads LCU's offense, averaging 20.8 points per game. He is shooting 40.6 percent from the floor and 48.6 percent from long range. Bryce Weinmunson is second, averaging 10.7 points per game and shooting 40 percent from the floor. He is also shooting 45.5 percent from three-point land. The Wildcats average 71.14 points per game and their opponents have recorded an average of 71.57.
 
Omarion Layssard leads LCU in rebounding, hauling in 5.1 boards per night. He has notched 17 offensive rebounds. Chukwuemeke Nwaoshai is a touch behind Layssard for the team lead, averaging 5.0 rebounds. The Wildcats hold a 37-31 edge in rebounding against their opponents.
 
The Generals are 9-1 all-time against the Wildcats. They have won the last two meetings. LSUA scored 95 points in both contests last season.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM on Monday, December 2 at The Fort.
