Men's Basketball Cruises to 99-68 Win Over Huston-Tillotson

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball rolled to a 99-68 victory over Huston-Tillotson University in a Red River Athletic Conference contest.
 
It is the fourth-straight win and third-straight 90-plus point game for the Generals (10-1, 7-1 RRAC).
 
"Kudos to our team," Assistant Coach Dwayne Harmason said. "These guys put extra work in on a daily basis. No matter what we give them, they try to find extra to do. Now we are seeing the payoff for the investment of time they're putting in, you can't substitute it."
 
EJ McQuillan led the LSUA offense with 18 points. He finished 7-for-9 from the field, knocking down four of his six attempts from deep. He also added a pair of steals to his ledger.
 
Kashie Natt recorded 12 points and went 6-for-9 from the floor. Brayden Thompson tallied 11 points and shot 5-for-6. Jakemin Abney rounded out LSUA's double-digit scorers, finishing with 10 points. Abney was 4-for-6 from the field and 2-for-2 from long range. Isaiah Howard led the Generals with seven assists. He also led the Purple and Gold with five steals.
 
The Generals shot 57.4 percent from the floor as a team and 44.9 percent from three-point range. LSUA recorded 44 points in the paint, 38 points off turnovers, 19 fast break points, and the bench tallied 49 points. The Generals had 14 different players record points, 11 record at least one assist, and nine different players register a steal.
 
 LSUA finished with 17 steals, tying the season-high, and just two swipes off the program's record of 19. The Generals set the record last season against North American University on February 10, 2024. It is the
 
LSUA reached a double-digit lead just five minutes into the contest. A 16-6 run over the opening five minutes saw points from Thompson, Howard, and McQuillan. The Generals reached their first 20-point lead three-and-a-half minutes later, 30-9, after a 14-3 run. Abney recorded half of LSUA's points in the second run.
 
The Generals took a 60-32 lead into the halftime break.
 
A dunk from Thompson two minutes into the second stanza gave LSUA a 30-point advantage, 66-36, keeping the Rams (2-8, 2-6 RRAC) at arm's length for the remainder of the contest.
 
The Purple and Gold host North American University on Saturday, December 14, at The Fort for another RRAC meeting. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
