STERLINGTON, LA - Generals Struggle in day 2 at the Cajun Collision.
The Cajun Collision is a fantastic tournament with top NAIA programs competing against each other. The Generals are playing against some of the best teams in the country to start this season off, and results have not gone our way yet.
In game one LSUA took on Central Methodist. Both teams only had 5 hits each in the entire game, but unfortunately Central Methodist were able to covert those hits into runs, and the Generals were not.
William Vice and
Kyler Carson both pitched really well for LSUA, but Central Methodist ended the game with a 4-0 victory. Â
In game two, LSUA took on Oregon Tech. The Generals did not come out strong and gave up a 6 runs in the first 2 innings. The Generals eventually got on the board in the top of the 4
th as
Zach Mengarelli scored on a passed ball. In the top of the 6
th,
Zach Mengarelli scored again thanks to a
Jaxon Bernard sacrifice fly out to center field.
Jacob Martin then hit a single up the middle to get
Keegan Garcia home to make it 3-6. In the top of the 7
th, the impressive
Zach Mengarelli scored his 3
rd run of the day thanks to a
Jaxon Bernard single. Unfortunately, that was the end of a potential comeback for the Generals, as the game ended 4-6, in favor of Oregon Tech.

Next up for the Generals is a home series against Texas College to begin their red river conference campaign. The first pitch will be at 2:00PM on Friday, February 16
th.
