NEW ORLEANS, LA - The Generals Fall short in New Orleans
LSUA went on a road trip yesterday to take on Southern University at New Orleans. Southern started the brightest of the teams as they took a 2-run lead in the bottom of the 1
st. Southern then extended their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the 2
nd, and that was the last run scored for quite some time. In the top of the 6
th LSUA fought back and finally got on the board.
Blaise Foote reached first on a pitching error, which led to
Cade Labruyere and
Connor Bedneck taking full advantage and sprinting home to score a run each. Unfortunately for the Generals, Southern were able to bounce straight back and score another 2 runs in the bottom of the 6
th. The Generals continued to fight and never gave up. In the top of the 7
th,
Landon Clampit stepped up and hit a single to left field which led to
Keegan Garcia and
Jaxon Bernard getting home and making the score 4-5. Southern were able to score one more run before the end of the ball game, but the Generals had no response. Final score LSUA 4-6Â Southern University at New Orleans.
