HATTIESBURG, MS- The Generals took a break from Red River Athletic Conference play and headed to Mississippi to take on the Crusaders of William Carey for a single game, falling 7-17.
The first inning of play both teams went scoreless, but in the second the Generals went on to score two runs which the Crusaders quickly answered back with 6 of their own, making it a 2-6 game after the second inning.
The Generals tried to make a comeback as they went on to score 5 more runs between the 4
th and 7
th inning of play, but the Crusaders saw seven runs in the 5
th inning that extended the lead out of Generals reach.
The Generals will get a well-rested weekend off after having to cancel the home series against Wayland Baptist due to weather, and will be back on the road Tuesday, March 19
th for an exhibition match-up against Southeastern. First pitch is at 6:00 PM in Hammond.
