HAMMOND, LA- The Generals headed to Hammond for an exhibition match up with the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana University, falling 17-5.
Despite the loss, the Generals took this opportunity to grow and gain experience as they were able to work in seven pitchers to face the Lions.
Brandon Noel ultimately got the start pitching one inning allowing no hits and striking out 2 of the four batters faced before
Colin LaCombe was brought in for the next inning of play.
At the plate,
Jacob Martin helped put the Generals on the board with a fly out to left field that brought in Cade Labruye. Then in the fourth inning,
Peyton Marcantel sent one flying over left field bringing himself around and teammate,
Josh Myers making it a 3-5 ball game before the bottom of the 4
th. The Lions saw two big innings in the 4
th and 5
th adding on 12 more runs total, extending their lead out of the Generals reach.
The Generals will now go back to Red River Athletic Conference play as they will head to Hawkins, TX to take on the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian. First game is on Friday, March 22
nd with first pitch at 1:00 PM.
