Pineville, LA - After winning a thriller on Friday, LSUA had high hopes heading into Saturday's double header, but it wasn't to be.
Game 2:Â
LSUA started brightly by taking a 1-0 lead thanks to
Cade Labruyere's triple, which he successfully scored from in the next play. The Generals then Doubled their lead in the top of the 3rd when
Zach Mengarelli hit a single to get
Cade Labruyere home again. The Wildcats then tied the game up with runs in the 5th and 6th inning. In the top of the 7th,
Keegan Garcia stepped up and hit a single to get
Luke Benoit home which gave LSUA a 3-2 lead. The Wildcats tied it up again in the bottom of the 7th. In the top of the 8th,
Blaise Foote hit a bomb of a home run to right field with
Zach Mengarelli on first base to give LSUA a 5-3 lead. The Wildcats broke LSUA hearts with a good response in the 8th and 9th inning to take a 6-5 victory.Â
Game 3:Â
LSUA started brightly again and took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd when
Peyton Marcantel hit a huge home run to right field. In the bottom of the 2nd, the Wildcats scored 4 times to kill the LSUA momentum. LCU then made it 5-1 in the bottom of the 3rd. The Generals had a good response in the top of the 4th as
Josh Myers reached 1st on a fielder's choice, and
Blaise Foote scored.
Jaxon Bernard then hit a single to get
Keegan Garcia home to make it 5-3. This was the last run scored in the game thanks to some strong pitching from both teams. Final score LCU 5-3 LSUA
