ALEXANDRIA, LA - LSUA take game one, on a windy day against a resilient Huston Tillotson Rams team.
The Generals started brightly and took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st, as
Jacob Martin got home from 3rd base. The Rams responded and scored twice in the top of the 2nd to gain the advantage. In the bottom of the 2nd
Dezmon Dugas got home from 3rd base to tie the game at 2-2.
In the bottom of the 4th, LSUA regained the lead as
Keegan Garcia hit a single to get
Alex Guilbeau home, and
Josh Myers sac flied to center field to get Garcia home. By the top of the 5th, the rams had a 6-4 lead. In the bottom of the 5th,
Blaise Foote responded and hit a bomb of a home run to put the Generals within 1.
In the bottom of the 7th,
Alex Guilbeau &
Jaxon Bernard hit consecutive doubles to score a combined three runs for the Generals, which gave them a 8-6 advantage. In the bottom of the 8th, the Generals finished the rams off, as
Zach Mengarelli tripled to get
Cade Labruyere home, and Mengarelli got home himself shortly after.
Kyler Carson closed on the mound, to give LSUA a 10-6 victory.
