Hobbs, NM-The Generals move to an overall record of 18-18 and 15-9 in Red River Athletic Conference play after a dominate performance in game one of three with the Mustangs of the University of the Southwest.
The Generals took charge early, as they went up on a 7-0 run in the first inning of play that included a homerun shot by Mengarelli and other strong at bats. However, the Generals didn't stop there as they scored in every inning except the 4
th. With the Generals on a roll, the Mustangs felt the heat as they were only able to put up 3 runs compared to the Generals 18.
One of the heavy hitters of the game came from outfielder,
Josh Myers as he went 3-4 with 5 RBIs that included a long shot out of Hobbs, NM and back to Alexandria, LA. Labruyere, Mengarelli, Foote, Marcantel, and Trahan also came up big time for the Generals.Ā
In the 18-3-win, Will Vice took to the mound for the Generals pitching 5.2 innings before
Rene Solis Jr. came and closed out the game. During Vice's time on the mound, he allowed only four hits, two runs, and struck out 4 of the 26 batters faced.Ā
The Generals will wrap up the series with the Mustangs with double header action on, April 19
th. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM MST.
