Generals Rally for Game One Win, but Fall Short Game Two Against Wildcats

PINEVILLE, LA-The Generals traveled across the Red River to take on the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University, splitting the doubleheader 1-1 and moving to an overall record of 23-9 and 11-3 in Red River Athletic Conference play.

GAME ONE: LSUA 5, LCU 4
The Generals had everyone on the edge of their seat for game one as the Wildcats took a 4-1 lead after the first inning of play and the Generals went cold for the next three innings of play.

However, with the Wildcats also going cold, only scoring their four runs in the 1st inning of play, the Generals sparked a fire late with a sac fly by Amber Giddens in the 5th inning which added run number two for the Generals. They then went on to put up two runs in the 6th inning, tying the game, and then the final and winning run in the 7th

GAME TWO: LSUA 2, LCU 8
Game two started off tight as the Generals were able to tie the game up 2-2 after the top of the 5th inning before the Wildcats closed the inning with one more run making it a close 2-3 ball game.

Unfortunately for the Generals, the Wildcats went on to put up five unanswered runs in the 6th inning to take game two of the double-header.

Up next, the Generals will begin a long stretch of home games, starting on Friday, April 5th where they will host conference leaders, Our Lady of the Lake University in double-header action. First pitch is at 12:00 PM.
