STERLINGTON, LA- The Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament jumped off to an early start in hopes to beat the weather. The Generals seeded at the No. 4 spot, drew crosstown rivals, the No. 5 seeded LCU Wildcats for day one play. After a thrilling 11 innings of play, the Generals fell 12-13.

Peyton Marcantel was able to put the Generals on the board first with a double down the left field line that brought Mengarelli home in the first inning of play. However, the Wildcats came back with full force leading 12-6 by the 7^th inning. 

The Generals slowly creeped back and were down only 8-12 heading into the 9^th inning. With two outs in the 9^th, still trailing, the Generals knew they needed to get the bats rolling and that's exactly what they did. The Generals scored the four needed runs to tie things up, and into extra innings they went. In the 11^th inning, the Wildcats were able to bring their winning run in. 

The Generals still have a chance at redemption as they will take on the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian on Friday at 5:00 PM. Survive and advance mode.
