ALEXANDRIA, La. – Louisiana State University of Alexandria Director of Athletics Tyler Unsicker is pleased to announce the hiring of Caleb Dunlop as the Assistant Director of Athletics for External Affairs.
"Caleb brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a willingness to serve our student-athletes to campus, Director of Athletics Tyler Unsicker said. "He is passionate about telling stories and highlighting the great things our student-athletes have and will accomplish at LSUA. I'm excited to have him on staff; he will be a tremendous asset to our athletic department."
Dunlop joins the Generals with over a decade of college athletics experience in the NAIA and NCAA Division II. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Central Washington University for seven years. While at CWU, Dunlop handled communications duties for the Wildcats' athletic teams. He also served as the play-by-play broadcaster and public address announcer for Wildcat home games.
"I want to thank Dr. Coreil, [Director of Athletics] Tyler Unsicker, and the LSU Alexandria athletic department for this opportunity," Dunlop said. "I'm excited to join LSUA and continue to elevate the student-athlete experience and success the department and university have already begun."
During his time at Central Washington, Dunlop oversaw the expansion of social media, the creation of media days, and the evolution of live streaming for Wildcat teams, including the use of gifs featuring CWU student-athletes, which generated over 12 million views.
Prior to Central Washington, he spent time at Dickinson State University, where he oversaw communications efforts for all 15 NAIA sports.
Outside athletics, Dunlop worked with Habitat for Humanity in Kittitas County, Washington, and AIT Technology in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Auburn, Maine native received his bachelor's degree from Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, where he was the play-by-play broadcaster and sports information intern.
