ALEXANDRIA, LA – Five Louisiana State University of Alexandria teams have earned the Scholar Team designation the NAIA announced.
 
The Scholar Team Award recognizes teams that achieve at minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the nominating institution.
 
"It is truly a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes' work in the classroom," LSUA Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Tyler Unsicker said. "Our student-athletes and coaches have created and fostered a culture of academic success and awards like this continue to validate their efforts for greatness in the classroom and in their sport."
 
Women's tennis (3.83), softball (3.51), men's soccer (3.48), women's soccer (3.40), and women's basketball (3.30) all earned Scholar Team Awards.
 
The women's tennis team's GPA of 3.83 ranks in the top 50 amongst all NAIA programs (across all sports) honored and is the sixth-highest women's tennis GPA in the NAIA.
