MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Adam Sherwood and
Javier Moscardo notched second half goals to bring the score level, but the Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team (2-2-0) fell to No. 18 Bethel University (4-0-1).

Mackenzie Young said. "I'm proud of of the boys for fighting back after going down two. It's a tough one to still cmoe away with nothing in the end. Our full focus in on Monday's game now."
After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, LSUA scored a pair of goals in less than 60 seconds to even the score in the 56
th minute.
Sherwood was the first to score for the Generals. He won a tackle in LSUA's half and hit
Mackenzie Vincent on the wing. Vincent worked his way towards the 18 before sending a pass back to Sherwood, who slipped it far post past the keeper.
Moscardo's equalizer came just 20 seconds later.
Tomas Cabrera dispossessed a Wildcat near the sideline and found Moscardo at the top of the 18. Moscardo buried his chance to level the contest at 2-2.
No. 18 Bethel opened the scoring in 10
th minute. Horace Avila Jr. fired a shot home from the top of the box. They pushed their advantage to 2-0 in the 21
st minute with a goal from Goffin Oyirworth.
The Wildcats found the game-winning marker in the 64
th minute from Stanley Isaac.
LSUA had a pair of chances early in the contest. Sherwood tested Bethel keeper Diego Camargo in the first minute, before
Paul Adler and Moscardo each hit the post in the seventh. The 23
rd minute also forced Camargo into action, keeping a chance from
Pablo Dominguez de León out. He tested Camargo again in the 34
th minute with another headed effort and was again rebuked by the Wildcats' keeper.
Valeriu Tarlev made four saves for the Generals. His first stop came on a shot from Juan Pablo Garcia in the ninth minute. He made three saves in the second half.
After reclaiming the lead in the second half, the Wildcats searched for insurance. A chance from Garcia in the 65
th minute was stymied by Tarlev. Five minutes later, a chance for Bethel off a corner kick was stopped by
Rhys Fuller, keeping the score within one.
In the waning seconds of the match, LSUA generated a pair of shots from Sherwood and
Charlie Moore but were unable to source a second equalizer.
The Wildcats finished with 16 shots, while the Generals took 12.
LSU Alexandria is on the road for their next match, traveling to Henderson, Tenn. on Monday (September 2) for a Labor Day fixture against Freed-Hardeman University. Kick-off is at 1:00 PM.
