ALEXANDRIA, La. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the recipients of the NAIA Scholar Teams for the 2023-24 academic year. Five Louisiana State University of Alexandria teams earned the honor.
 
Women's Basketball (3.32), Men's Soccer (3.47), Women's Soccer (3.28), Softball (3.41), and Women's Tennis (3.87) were named Scholar Teams by the NAIA.
 
"This is a great honor for our Women's Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Men's Soccer and Women's Basketball teams," Director of Athletics Tyler Unsicker said. "Our student-athletes and coaches have created a culture of academic success over the past couple years and awards like this validate their sustained efforts for greatness both in the classroom and in their sport."

The NAIA Scholar Team Award recognizes teams that achieve a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the nominating institution.
 
LSUA's women's tennis team finished in the top 15 for highest GPA by any NAIA team and the highest GPA among teams in Louisiana.
