ALEXANDRIA, La. – The No. 4 Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball team travels to cross-town rival Louisiana Christian University, before hosting Xavier University in Red River Athletic Conference play.
"Huge Game for us Thursday," LSUA Head Coach Dimario Jackson said. LCU is playing some really good basketball. They have gotten better since the last time we played. It'll be a tough environment and our guys will be ready for the challenge. Xavier dominated us last time we played. They were tougher than us and more disciplined. It's a big game for us. We are ready!"
The No. 4 Generals (17-1, 14-1 RRAC) are coming off a 104-72 victory over Texas College last week.
SCOUTING LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN
The Wildcats are 9-9 on the season and 8-6 in RRAC play. They have won their last six matchups and are 4-3 at home. Last week they recorded wins over North American, 82-71, and Huston-Tillotson, 74-57.
Devin Carter leads the Wildcats' scoring, averaging 19.8 points per game. He has appeared in 14 games and started 10. Carter is shooting 39.4 percent from the field but knocks down shots from deep at 42.1 percent clip. He is converting 83.6 percent of his chances at the free throw line.
Bryce Weinmunson sits in second and has appeared in all 18 games. He is averaging 10.6 points per game and shooting 42.9 percent from the floor, with a 40.5 percentage from long range.
The Wildcats are averaging 72.83 points per game and shooting 43.7 percent as a unit.
Chukwuemeke Nwaoshi leads LCU in rebounding, hauling down 6.8 rebounds per game. He is the only player averaging over five rebounds. The Wildcats hold a +2-rebounding margin, 35.4 to 33.4.
The Generals claimed an 82-62 victory in the first half of the season at The Fort. They are 10-1 all-time against the Wildcats, including a 3-0 record when playing in Pineville. LSUA has won the last three meetings.

Xavier (La.) enters the week with a 12-5 overall record and an 11-4 mark in RRAC play. The Gold Rush are 5-3 when playing away from home.
The Gold Rush are outscoring opponents 75.9 to 64.2, an 11.8-point differential. They are also out rebounding opponents 37.6 to 35.2.
Lance Williams leads Xavier's offense, scoring 15.8 points per game. He is shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from deep. Seviuhn Turner (15.2) and James Weathers (13.7) also eclipse 10 points per game. Turner is shooting 48.1 percent from the floor. All three have amassed 50 or more assists on the season.
Corey Dunning leads Xavier (La. ) in rebounding, hauling in 7.4 boards per game. Turner is behind him at 5.8 and leads his squad with 23 blocks.
The Generals fell 89-72 in their last meeting. They are 8-3 all-time against the Gold Rush and are 4-1 when playing at The Fort.
