ALEXANDRIA, La. – Amani Gray's double-double led the Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team over Texas A&M-Texarkana, 75-54.
"We challenged them to play with pace and from the get go we did a good job," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "We started scoring 21 points in the first quarter and ended the fourth scoring 21 points, so I think we were established from the get go to the end.
Gray finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, team highs in both categories. She shot 10-for-17 from the field and 4-for-4 at the free throw line. It is the second time Gray has recorded a double-double this season. The first also came against Texas A&M-Texarkana (3-14, 3-10 RRAC) on November 16, 2024, when she recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Dannah Martin-Hartwick recorded 17 points, while

Jewel Jones finished with six assists, while Peracchi dished out five. Dyer finished with a season-high four steals.
The Generals (12-5, 9-4 RRAC) shot 43.9 percent from the floor. They recorded 32 points in the paint, 20 points off turnovers, and had 12 second chance points. LSUA recorded 16 assists, three blocks, and 15 steals. The Generals also posted a 38-26 rebounding margin over the Eagles.
LSUA shot over 50 percent in both the second and fourth quarters.
"When your shots aren't falling, the only thing you can do is practice," Perkins added. "I take a lot of pride that these girls get in the gym after hours and put up an extra 500 to 1,000 makes a week."
Texarkana opened the game with a 6-4 run in the first four minutes. The Generals responded with a 13-0 run over the next two minutes for a 19-8 lead. LSUA went into the second quarter with a 21-12 advantage.
In the second, the Generals extended their lead to 17, 38-21, over the course of the quarter. They closed the half on an 8-0 run, with five of the eight points coming from
Reese Stephens.
A three from Martin-Hartwick midway through the third gave LSUA their first 20-point lead of the game, 46-24. The Eagles chipped five points off the advantage, closing the third at 54-38.
After a free throw from Texarkana opened the scoring in the final period, the Generals scored the next seven points on a three and a layup from Dyer, as well as a layup from Jones, for a 61-39 lead.
With 5:11 left in regulation, Martin-Hartwick converted a pair of free throws to re-establish a 20-point advantage, 66-45, and the Generals' advantage never dipped below 20 afterward.
