(RV) Generals Notch Clean Sheet Over A&M-Victoria, 3-0

VICTORIA, TX – The (RV) Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team their second consecutive clean sheet victory, 3-0, over Texas A&M-Victoria.

"Another dominant performance from the boys," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. "This was a very tough road trip and it was very important for us to get back into the win column and we've done it with two clean sheets and three goals in each game."

Ben McCarron notched his fourth goal of the week after his hat trick at North American University. McCarron is now at nine goals on the season; he leads LSUA (12-1-1, 7-0-1 RRAC) in goals (9) and points (18).

The Generals mustered six shots in each half to outshoot the Jaguars (7-7-1, 3-4-1 RRAC) 12-5. Ivan Capurro made three saves for his sixth clean sheet of the year. Two of his saves came in the first half.

McCarron's goal came just 18 minutes into the contest. Paul Adler intercepted a pass in the attacking third and played a wide-open McCarron. He fired his shot past the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

Towards the end of the first half, in the 41st minute, the Generals were the beneficiary of a Jaguars' miscue. A corner from Diego Cadabon struck a Jaguars' defender and caromed over the goal line.

Just five minutes into the second half, LSUA struck again. Shay Meagher found Cadabon on the edge of the box and Cadabon rifled a shot goalward. Eric Thrust made the initial save, but Cadabon buried the rebound for a 3-0 lead.

LSUA held the Jaguars off the shot chart in the second stanza until the 82nd minute. Capurro made his final save of the contest, keeping out a shot from Felipe Rangel.

The Generals play on the road at LSU Shreveport next week on Thursday, before facing Louisiana Christian University at home on Saturday for Senior Day.
