SHREVEPORT, LA – The (RV) Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team fell to LSU Shreveport, 4-0.
LSUA (12-2-1, 7-1-1 RRAC) held a 14-13 edge in shots over LSU Shreveport (12-0-5, 10-0-0 RRAC), including a 10-5 differential in the first half. Just four of the Generals' shots were on target.
"Tough one to take," LSUA Head Coach
Mackenzie Young said. "We were far from our best today and the better team won. Full focus now to practice and Saturday's game."
The Pilots opened the scoring just nine minutes in with a goal from Jaime Zani.
Diego Cadabon had LSUA's first chance on goal in the 11
th minute but was stymied by Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes.
LSUS then scored two goals in under three minutes. Jack Thomas made it 2-0, before Zani notched his second.
Gabriel Marin and
Juan Buitrago both had chances turned aside by Liahagen-Kolnes.
The Pilots had the first half's final chance on goal in the 42
nd minute when Jacob Botterill was denied by
Ivan Capurro.
In the 70
th minute, LSU Shreveport added the game's final goal off the boot of Joel Trueb.
LSUA's final shot from
Maximo Romagnoli was turned aside in the 79
th minute.
The Generals are back at home on Saturday, October 25, as they host Louisiana Christian for Senior Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
