Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Two for Twenty, McCarron Scores Twice in (RV) Generals 4-2 Win Over Jarvis Christian

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The (RV) Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team remained undefeated in Red River Athletic Conference play with a 4-2 win over Jarvis Christian University.

The Generals (10-1-0, 5-0-0 RRAC) recorded 12 shots and held the Bulldogs (1-8-1, 1-3-1 RRAC) to eight.

"I think we made that a lot tougher than it needed to be today," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. "Credit to Jarvis though, they hung in with us and didn't stop. They took advantage of the couple moments we gave them and put the ball in the back of the net and made it a game. But overall, it's conference, and three points is three points."

Ivan Capurro made one save in goal and earned his 10th win of the season. Ben McCarron scored a pair of goals, while Paul Adler recorded a trio of assists.

"[Paul] has been unbelievable," Young added. "I'm so lucky as a coach to have someone come off the bench and have that impact. I know it's difficult to be a player that isn't starting but his mentality is fantastic."

In the 26th minute, Adler picked up a loose ball on the wing and sent it into the 18 to a waiting McCarron for a 1-0 lead.

Gabriel Marin recorded his third goal of the season in the 35th minute. Adler sent a cross into the box and found the head of Marin who directed it past the keeper to put LSUA up by two.

The Bulldogs cut the Generals' lead in half in the 41st minute when Daniel Sierra slipped a chance into the back of the net.

The Generals responded just over a minute later with McCarron's second goal of the game. Adler redirected a long service off the post where McCarron cleaned up the rebound for a 3-1 edge.

After Jesse Ochoa brought the Bulldogs with one again with a goal in the 70th minute, Mackenzie Vincent gave LSUA the breathing room they needed. Vincent redirected a cross from Javier Moscardo past the keeper for a 4-2 lead.

The Generals are back in action on Saturday, October 11, when they host Texas A&M-Texarkana. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
