LSUA split a pair of games last week against Texas Wesleyan and Nelson University last week and are 1-1 on the season.
EJ McQuillan tied the LSUA single-game record with 41 points against the Rams. The record was set by JR Adams on February 13, 2020 against Huston-Tillotson. McQuillan went 11-for-20 from the field, including a 5-for-8 mark from beyond the arc, and knocked down 14 of his 15 free throws. He was named the RRAC Offensive Player of the Week.
TJ James recorded 16 rebounds, 11 defensive, while adding four steals and two blocks over the weekend against Texas Wesleyan and Nelson. He was named the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week.
SCOUTING TOUGALOO
The Bulldogs are 0-2 on the season. They fell to Florida Memorial, 82-66, in their season opener, followed by an 86-81 loss at St. Thomas.
Tougaloo is averaging 73.5 points per game and shooting 50.5 percent from the floor. They are knocking down 37.5 percent of their chances from deep and 65.4 percent at the free throw line.
Antonio Patterson leads the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 21 points per game. Willie Anderson (12.0) and Jagger Young (11.0) are also averaging double digit games. Young and Patterson are tied for the team lead with 4.0 rebounds per game.
