ALEXANDRIA, LA – The No. 2 Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball team enters the Red River Athletic Conference as the #1 seed. The Generals (25-2, 22-2 RRAC) take on #8 seed Huston-Tillotson University at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, February 28, at the Laborde Earles Coliseum.
"Huge weekend this weekend," LSUA Head Coach Dimario Jackson. "It's March Madness now, which means that it's time to start playing our best basketball! It starts defensively for us. Our guys are refocused and ready. It will be fun!"

GENERALS MARCHING ON
LSUA has won 19 of its last 20 games of the season. They wer No. 1 in the penultimate NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
The Generals came in at No. 2 in the final poll after falling in their regular season finale to LSU Shreveport, 101-96. Prior the finale, they had won 19 consecutive games – the third longest winning streak in LSUA history.
The Purple and Gold enter the tournament averaging 84 points per game and shooting 44.5% from the field. They have a +14.4 scoring margin over their opponents, allowing 69.6 points per game.
Kashie Natt leads the Generals in scoring, averaging 19.3 points per game. He also leads the Generals in rebounding, hauling in 9.9 rebounds per game. Behind Natt in scoring are
EJ McQuillan (12.5) and
Jakemin Abney (10.0). Natt is knocking down 48% of his shots, while McQuillan is converting 40.7%. Abney enters the tournament with a shooting percentage of 47.2%.
Natt has recorded 15 double-doubles during the campaign.
SCOUTING HUSTON-TILLOTSON UNIVERSITY
The Rams (10-16, 10-14 RRAC clinched an RRAC Tournament berth with a 57-46 victory over Jarvis Christian University. Huston-Tillotson overcame an 18-point deficit in the second half in a must-win game. The Rams have won their last four games.
HTU averages 65.42 points per game and are shooting 39.5% from the floor. The Rams are converting at a clip of 27% from long range and are making 69.4% of their free throw chances.
Charles Hallmon leads the Rams' offense, averaging 13.0 points per game. He is shooting 51.1% from the floor and 73.1% at the free throw line. Hallmon also averages a team-high 8.5 rebounds per game and has amassed a team-high 41 steals. He is second in both assists (53) and blocks (17).
Braelon Seals is averaging 8.7 points per game and shooting 35.4% from the field. Seals has taken 198 shots on the season with 119 of them coming from beyond the arc.
The Generals and Rams met twice over the regular season with LSUA claiming both ends of the season series. The Purple and Gold were victorious in Alexandria on December 12, 99-68, and an 85-57 win on February 8 in Austin, Texas.
EJ McQuillan led the Generals in scoring in December, recording 18 points.
Kashie Natt recorded 24 points, a team-high, in Austin.
The Generals are 19-1 all-time against the Rams. They have won the last five meetings.
LSUA RRAC HISTORY
The Generals won the RRAC Tournament last season. They took down Paul Quinn College, 77-67, in the quarterfinal. They then captured a 15-point victory over LSU Shreveport in the semifinal, 89-74, before winning the tournament with a 90-72 victory over Southwest (N.M.).
Kashie Natt was named RRAC Tournament MVP following last season's tournament, as well as being named the 2023-24 RRAC Player of the Year and NAIA First Team All-American.
The 2023-24 tournament was the fourth time the Generals won the RRAC Tournament. It was the first time since 2017-18. Th Purple and Gold won their first RRAC Tournament Title 2014-15.
LSUA has won the regular season title seven times, including the 2024-25 season.
