HOUSTON, Texas – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team notched a 69-58 win over North American University.

"Great win on the road against a scrappy North American team," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "I'm very proud of the effort and defensive play."

The Generals recorded 36 points in the paint, 12 points off turnovers, 12 second chance, and the bench chipped in 24.

The Stallions (10-13, 8-12 RRAC) stormed out to a 7-0 lead before LSUA tallied their first bucket from Gray. The Generals tied the game on a tip-in from Young, 10-10, but the final basket of the quarter went to the Stallions, 12-10.

North American held the lead for the first six-and-a-half minutes of the second quarter. Back-to-back baskets from Martin-Hartwick and Jones put LSUA ahead 22-21 with 3:33 left in the second. A pair of tip-ins from Young made it 26-23 in favor the Generals.
