ALEXANDRIA, La. – The No. 21 Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team picked up a pair of wins over the University States Sports Academy (0-2), 9-3, and Central Baptist University (2-3), 10-2, on day one of the Generals Showdown.
"Today we came in with a plan," LSUA Head Coach Trent Partridge said. "I thought we kind of gave the game away yesterday. Today we came in with the mindset we were going to score as many runs as possible and we scored 19 against quality pitching in both games in the circle. In the first game, it's 9-3, but they [USSA] are going to win a lot of ballgames. Game two is a very quality team [in Central Baptist]. We weren't satisfied with the win against them last time and today we came out with the mindset to put them away and were able to do that."
GAME ONE | LSUA 9, USSA 3
