ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team fell to John Melvin University, 17-3, in a non-conference game.
The Millers (11-12) scored six runs in the fourth, five in the fifth, and five in the seventh in the win.
The Generals (13-12) scored two in the first on a pair of RBI singles from
Jaxon Bernard and
Peyton Marcantel for a 2-0 lead. An RBI double in the top of the second cut their lead to one, 2-1.
Shae Thibodeau scored on a throwing error in the second to push the Generals' lead back to two.
The fourth inning assault from the Millers saw runs score on three RBI singles and a sacrifice fly as they pulled ahead 7-3.
Austin Lorenz (0-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed five runs in 1.1 innings. Langley had a pair of hits and scored a run. Bernard,
Dezmon Dugas, and Marcantel each recorded a hit.
LSUA hosts Southwest (N.M.) in a three-game series starting on Thursday, March 13, at 5:00 p.m.
