Foote Becomes All-Time HR Leader in Doubleheader Sweep of TAMUT

ALEXANDRIA, LA – Blaise Foote became the all-time homerun leader for the Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team with his 26th career homerun as the Generals (16-18, 10-7 RRAC) picked up a pair of victories over Texas A&M-Texarkana (22-1, 11-6 RRAC).

"It was a great day," LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux said. "We've been challenging our guys over the last couple weeks, we knew we were playing very high-quality opponents but we hadn't quite played our best. We've been challenging them to really come out and play a complete 16 innings of baseball in a doubleheader – today we did that. I thought we competed really well at the plate both games and our starters gave us a chance to win."

GAME ONE | LSUA 9, TAMUT 3
The Generals scored in four separate innings, including Foote's sixth inning blast, for the win. They scored one in the first, two in the second and third innings, and brought in four in the sixth.

Josh Pierce (4-4) tossed a complete game for the win. He allowed three runs on five hits. He compiled seven strikeouts and walked just two.

Julien Kliebert, Judge Boudreaux, and Lane Patin each recorded a pair of hits. Brett Batteford drove in two runs. Kliebert, Langley, Foote, and Patin each tallied an RBI.

LSUA went ahead 3-0 after the first two innings before a solo homerun from the Eagles tallied TAMUT's first run. They added a pair of runs in the fourth.

Foote's solo bomb came on a 3-1 count, a no-doubter hammered over the wall in right for a 6-3 lead in the sixth. Batteford then collected his second RBI later in the inning with a single through the right side. He had a sacrifice fly earlier in the game for his first RBI.

In the seventh, Pierce struck out the final two hitters for his second complete game of the year.

GAME TWO | LSUA 7, TAMUT 2
A four-run fourth and three-run sixth propelled the Generals in game two.

William Vice (2-2) pitched a quality start. He tossed six innings and allowed just two runs. He struck out five and allowed one free pass. Charlie Guidry earned a three-inning save. He allowed just one hit and struck out five out of the bullpen.

Kliebert, Batteford, and Patin tallied two hits each. Six different Generals recorded an RBI.

The Eagles took a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first. The Generals responded in the third with four runs of their own. Boudreaux started the scoring with a single through the right side to drive in Kliebert. Dugas followed with an RBI double down the right field line. A single from Batteford plated a third run before Patin reached on a fielder's choice to drive in the fourth run of the inning.

In the sixth, Jamari Valery laced a single up the middle to drive in Batteford. An error later in the inning helped a pair of runs score for a 7-2 lead.

Guidry struck out a hitter each inning he worked. He retired the final two hitters on fly outs to center to secure the save.
