SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team split the final two games of their series against Our Lady of the Lake University. The Generals (13-11, 7-2 RRAC) claimed game two, 22-11, after the Saints (11-14, 7-5 RRAC) took the opener, 14-2.
GAME ONE | OLLU 14, LSUA 2
The Saints scored in every inning, including scoring multiple runs in innings two through five. The tallied five runs in the second.
Both of LSUA's runs came in the sixth. An RBI double from
Blaise Foote brought in
Landon Langley, before
Luke Benoit doubled home Foote.
Brenyn Ebarb (1-3) was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs, five earned, over two innings.
GAME TWO | LSUA 22, OLLU 11
A 12-run seventh inning lifted the Generals to victory in game two.
The Generals took a 2-0 lead with a run in both the first and third innings.
Jaxon Bernard singled home a run in the first and a bases loaded walk to
Trevor Dooley allowed Foote to score.
OLLU tied the game with a pair of runs in the fourth. They then tallied eight runs in the sixth for a 10-2 lead.
The first three Generals reached in the seventh, loading the bases. After a strikeout, a bases loaded walk to Shae Thibodeau forced the inning's first run across.
Peyton Marcantel then launched a grand slam, cutting the deficit to three, 10-7. Bernard then reached on a fielder's choice while a run scored.
Three batters later, an error allowed two runs to cross the plate. Three batters after that, Thibodeau drew another bases loaded walk to force in the go-ahead run.
A three-run double from Marcantel pushed the Generals' lead to 14-10.
OLLU pushed across one run in the seventh. LSUA responded with three runs in the eighth and five in the ninth. An RBI triple from Foote and a two-run homerun from
Brett Batteford accounted for the runs in the eighth.
In the ninth, a single from Langley was extended by an error which allowed two to score.
Dezmon Dugas then crushed a three-run homerun.
Colin Ardoin (2-0) set the side down in order in the ninth. He earned the win out of the bullpen. Ardoin allowed just one run, over 3.1 innings, and struck out three.
LSUA recorded 17 hits in the contest with six different players having a multi-hit game.

The Generals host John Melvin University on Tuesday, March 11, in a non-conference game. They then welcome Southwest (N.M.) for a three-game RRAC series starting on Friday, March 14.
