ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria athletics department is excited to announce the LSUA Women's Soccer All-Decade Team, honoring and celebrating student-athletes from the program's first 10 years.
LSUA coaches, athletics communication staff, and administration selected the 18-player roster. While not a definitive list of all student-athletes who contributed to the growth and success of the LSUA women's soccer program, these 18 individuals stood out during their time with the Generals.
GOALKEEPERS
Eva Phillips was a three-year keeper for the Generals, playing from 2020 to 2022. She appeared in 15 games, including 10 during her final season. Phillips recorded 42 saves and logged over 1,000 minutes in her career. During LSUA's 2022 RRAC Tournament run, Phillips stopped a pair of penalties in the RRAC Tournament Final against Texas A&M-Texarkana, one in regular time and the other in extra time.
Cecille Mortensen played a pair of seasons in purple and gold in 2017 and 2018. She appeared in 36 games and logged over 3,200 minutes in the woodwork. Mortensen stopped 187 shots and posted a record of 20-10-6 with 15 clean sheets. In 2017, she backstopped the Generals to an RRAC Regular Season Championship with a save percentage of .861. She holds the LSUA single-season record for saves with 119 during the 2018 campaign, as well as the top two spots in single-season clean sheets. Mortensen in the LSUA career saves, wins (20), and clean sheets leader. She earned RRAC Newcomer of the Year and All-RRAC Second Team honors in 2017, as well as being named a Louisiana Sports Writers Association Honorable Mention. In 2018, Mortensen earned All-RRAC Honorable Mention.
DEFENDERS
A four-year member of the Generals' back line, Chandler Kammerer appeared in 67 games from 2014 to 2017. She registered eight goals and one assist for 17 total points. She tallied a pair of game-winning markers, one in both 2016 and 2017. Kammerer earned All-RRAC First Team honors in 2017, as well as an LSWA All-Louisiana First Team selection. She was a member of the 2017 RRAC Regular Season Championship squad and was named the RRAC Defensive Player of the Year for 2017.
Tori Ladd spent two seasons on the pitch for LSUA from 2014 to 2015. She appeared in 36 matches and registered one assist. She earned All-RRAC First Team honors and was named to the RRAC All-Tournament Team in 2015.
Lauren Fisher made 35 appearances for the Purple and Gold over the 2015 and 2016 seasons. She registered three goals for six points over her career. She tallied one game-winning goal. Fisher earned All-RRAC First Team honors and was named to the RRAC All-Tournament Team in 2016.
An NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 2019, Cindy Parenteau played the 2018 and 2019 seasons for LSUA. She appeared in 32 games for the Generals and registered four goals and two assists for 10 points, all coming in 2019. Parenteau scored one game-winning goal. She earned RRAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2019 and was selected to the All-RRAC First Team in 2019, following her Second Team All-RRAC recognition in 2018.
Jordyn DeJongh appeared in 34 contests over the 2018 and 2019 seasons for the Generals. She recorded one goal and four assists for six total points. DeJongh earned First Team All-RRAC honors in 2019. The Generals recorded nine clean sheets during the 2019 season.
A current member of the Generals' back line,
Audrian Cruz has appeared in 57 games over three years at LSUA from 2022 to 2024. She has recorded one assist and lodged six shots. The Generals' current captain, Cruz, helped the Generals capture the 2023 RRAC Tournament Championship and earn an NAIA postseason berth, as well as RRAC Tournament Finals appearances in 2022 and 2024.
Bailey Tillotson played two seasons for LSUA in 2022 and 2023. She appeared in 28 games and registered three goals for six points. Tillotson was named an All-RRAC Second Team selection in 2023 and earned RRAC All-Tournament honors after helping anchor a back line in the Generals' 2023 RRAC Tournament Championship run.
MIDFIELDERS
Nea Sunila appeared in 24 games over the 2014 and 2015 seasons at LSUA. She registered eight goals and two assists for a total of 18 points. In 2015, Sunila tallied a career-high 14 points with six goals and two assists; two of her goals came as game winners. She earned Second Team All-RRAC honors in 2015. Sunila later served as the head coach of the LSUA Women's Soccer Team from 2018 to 2019.
Jessica Sanchez spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons at LSUA. She appeared in 39 matches. Sanchez notched seven goals and 16 assists for 30 career points. She recorded four game-winning goals. In 2017, Sanchez tallied a career-high 18 points with four goals and 10 assists. She earned All-RRAC Second Team honors for her 2017 campaign.
Sofia Jimeno Nogue played the 2023 and 2024 seasons for the Generals. She has appeared in 40 matches, registering eight goals and six assists for 22 points. Jimeno Nogue was named to the RRAC All-Tournament Team in both 2023, during the Generals' RRAC Tournament Championship Run, and 2024. She also earned All-RRAC Honorable Mention honors in 2024.
A current General,
Alexia Bermejo Jo, has appeared in 56 games from 2022 to 2024. She has recorded 22 goals and 26 assists for 70 career points. She is the LSUA all-time leader in points and assists and is second in career goals. Bermejo Jo earned RRAC Tournament MVP honors in the Generals' 2023 RRAC Tournament Championship run, was named to the RRAC All-Tournament Team and All-RRAC All-Freshman Team in 2022, nabbed an All-RRAC Second Team selection in 2024, and earned All-RRAC First Team honors in 2023.
Micaela Nunes appeared in 42 matches over the 2023 and 2024 seasons for LSUA. She recorded 11 goals and 11 assists for 33 career points. She finished both seasons with as many assists as she scored goals, scoring four in 2023 and seven in 2024. Nunes was named to the RRAC All-Tournament Team in both 2023, during the Generals' 2023 RRAC tournament Championship, and 2024. She was an All-RRAC Honorable Mention selection in 2024.
FORWARDS
Andressa Araujo appeared in 63 games from 2018 to 2022 at LSUA. She registered 21 goals and 13 assists for a total of 55 points. She posted a career-high six goals and four assists in the 2022 season. Araujo helped guide the Generals to a pair of RRAC Tournament Finals in 2018 and 2022. She is second in all-time points (55) and in the top five for both assists (13) and goals (21). Araujo earned All-RRAC First Team honors in 2020 and All-RRAC Honorable Mention honors in 2021.
Abby Angelle spent four seasons with the Generals from 2014 to 2017. She appeared in an all-time high of 74 matches for LSUA. Angelle recorded 20 goals and five assists for 45 total points. She scored four game-winning goals in 2017 and recorded a total of five for her career. She is in the top five for goals (20), points (45), and game-winning goals (5) for an LSUA career.
Rhiannon Castle scored nine goals and added three assists for 21 points in her lone season at LSUA. She was named the 2016 RRAC Newcomer of the Year and tied the LSUA single-season record for game-winning goals (4). She is in the top five in single-season goals and points.
In just two seasons,
Remmie Ferla became the LSUA all-time leading goal scorer, beating the keeper 24 times in two years. Ferla set the LSUA single-season record with 18 goals in 2023 during the Generals' 2023 RRAC Tournament Championship run. She also holds the LSUA single-game record for points (11) with five goals and an assist against Texas College on October 3, 2024. She finished her career with 54 total points. Ferla was named an All-RRAC Honorable Mention in 2023.
