Women's Tennis All-Decade Team Announced

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria athletics department is excited to announce the LSUA Women's Tennis All-Decade Team, honoring and celebrating student-athletes from the program's history.
 
LSUA coaches, athletics communication staff, and administration selected the 12-player roster. While not a definitive list of all student-athletes who contributed to the growth and success of the LSUA women's tennis program, these 12 individuals stood out during their time with the Generals.
 
Sara Andrade, a standout performer during her time with the Generals, was inducted into the LSUA Athletics Hall of Fame in its inaugural class of 2024. Andrade earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors in 2017 during her senior year and finished the 2016-17 season ranked No. 33 in the ITA NAIA Singles Rankings and No. 16 in Doubles alongside partner Gisela Amor. She was also named All-Louisiana Honorable Mention by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) in both 2017 and 2019.
 
Alba Perny earned national recognition as a NAIA First Team All-American and ITA Singles All-American during the 2017-18 season. She closed the year ranked No. 8 in the final ITA NAIA Women's Team Rankings and was ranked No. 14 in Doubles with Laia Charles. Perny also received LSWA All-Louisiana Honorable Mention in 2018.
 
Patricia Perez was named a 2019 NAIA Second Team All-American, further demonstrating the depth of talent in LSUA's program.
 
Patricia Martinez made her mark as a top doubles competitor, ranking No. 16 in the ITA Doubles Rankings in 2022 with partner Candela Bonivardi. Martinez earned multiple honors, including LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team (2020) and Honorable Mention (2022), as well as All-RRAC Second Team in 2022. She was a member of the Generals' 2022 national semifinal team.
 
Olivia Scattini has been a model of consistency, earning ITA Doubles All-American honors in 2022 and 2023 and NAIA All-American honors in 2024. She was selected First Team All-RRAC in 2023, Second Team All-RRAC in 2022, and was named the RRAC Newcomer of the Year in 2021-22. Scattini also earned LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team honors in both 2022 and 2024, and played a key role in the 2022 semifinal team.
 
Annemart Kleijn brought power and leadership to the team, earning NAIA All-American honors in 2023 and 2024, as well as ITA Doubles All-American recognition in both years. She was the 2023 RRAC Player of the Year and received First Team All-RRAC and LSWA Second Team All-Louisiana honors in 2023. Kleijn also contributed to the 2022 semifinal run.
 
Gisela Amor, Andrade's 2017 doubles partner, was an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American and was ranked No. 16 in NAIA Doubles in 2017.
 
Maria Alvarez ranked No. 31 in the final 2022 ITA NAIA Singles Rankings and was part of the No. 25-ranked ITA Doubles team in 2021. She was also a member of the 2022 semifinal team.
 
Candela Bonivardi was a key contributor to LSUA's national success, ranked No. 26 in ITA Singles (2022) and No. 18 in 2023. She was a 2023 NAIA All-American, 2022 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, and a First Team All-RRAC selection in both 2022 and 2023. Bonivardi teamed with Martinez to rank No. 16 in ITA Doubles in 2022 and helped lead the team to the national semifinals.
 
Among the current stars of the program, Nahia Echaide recently completed her freshman season (2024–25) and earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors. She finished the season ranked No. 36 in ITA NAIA Singles and No. 22 in Doubles with partner Kanu Rajawat.
 
Kanu Rajawat had an outstanding debut season as well, being named an NAIA First Team All-American. She ended the season ranked No. 34 in Singles and No. 22 in Doubles with Echaide.
 
Alicia Romero earned NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors in 2022, was a First Team All-RRAC selection in 2022, and Second Team All-RRAC in 2023. She was also named to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team.
