Men's Soccer Shuts Out Blue Mountain Christian, 4-0

ALEXANDRIA, LA – Pablo Dominguez de León scored his first two goals of the season in a 4-0 win for the Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team over Blue Mountain Christian University.

The Generals (4-1-0) outshot the Toppers (2-3-0) 16-7.

"Overall good game for the boys," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. "Especially to open up the scoring a little bit. Blue Mountain were well coached and challenged us in a lot of ways. Overall please as a coach, always good to get a clean sheet."

Ivan Capurro was called into action for the first time in the 15th minute. He stymied an effort from Kida Yamaguchi. Capurro made a pair of saves in both halves for four on the afternoon.

"They [the back line and Capurro] were brilliant," Young added. "They made some big stops when they had to."

A long ball by into the attacking third by Diego Cadabón was shielded by a defender. Paul Adler snuck between the defender and the keeper, poking the ball free, and scored the game's first goal in the 17th minute.

Capurro's second stop of the half came in the 37th minute, keeping a chance from Karim Swedi from crossing the goal line.

Dominguez's first goal came early in the second half. Gabriel Marin played a through ball to Dominguez who needed only a couple touches before beating the keeper with a shot toward the left post.

His second marker came in the 65th minute. Javier Moscardo played a free kick into the box and found Dominguez for a 3-0 lead.

LSUA's final goal came from Mackenzie Vincent in the 85th minute. Owen Anforth found the head of Vincent off a corner for a 4-0 advantage.

The Generals are back at home on Wednesday, September 17, to take on Wiley University at 3:00 PM.
