Men's Basketball Routs A&M-San Antonio, 108-65

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball team put on a dominating performance against Texas A&M-San Antonio, reaching the century mark for the first time this season in a 108-65 win.
 
The 43-point margin of victory is the seventh highest margin in LSUA (18-7, 15-4 RRAC) history.
 
EJ McQuillan recorded a team-high 29 points. He finished 10-for-14 from the field, including a 6-for-9 mark from deep. McQuillan added seven rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal to his ledger. Jordan Decuir (16), Jayce Tolivar (16), TJ James (12), PD McCraney (11), and Talib Ferrette (10) all finished in double digits. Kaleb Pouncy dished out a team-high seven assists. James recorded a team-high eight rebounds. Every LSUA player who entered the game recorded either a point or an assist. The Generals finished with a season-high 24 assists.
 
LSUA recorded 42 points in the paint, 27 points off turnovers, 10 second chance points, and the bench recorded 30 points. The Generals tallied 12 steals and held a rebounding margin of 37-26.
 

 
Carson Brown and Dezmon Dudley led the Jaguars (7-18, 6-13 RRAC) in scoring with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
 
The Generals led for 39:23, or 98.5-percent, of the contest. Decuir scored the game's first bucket 37 seconds in and LSUA never looked back. They scored eight unanswered points to open the contest before TAMUSA found the scoreboard.
 
LSUA reached a double-digit lead just shy of five minutes into the first half. A three from McQuillan put the Generals ahead 18-6. They first reached a 20-point margin 12 minutes into the half with another three from McQuillan, 35-14.
 
At halftime, the Generals led 50-29 with a jumper from Ferrette as the half's final basket, giving them a 21-point lead headed into the locker room.
 
With 14:53 left in regulation, a jumper from James made it a 30-point game for the first time. The bucket was the second of three consecutive LSUA baskets scored by James.
 
The Generals reached the 100-point mark with 2:32 on the clock on the back end of a pair of free throws from Javon Smith. A three from Tolivar 28 seconds later gave the Purple and Gold their first 40-point lead of the night.
 
LSUA is back at home on Saturday, February 14, to host Our Lady of the Lake University in their final regular season home game. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM at The Fort.
