GAME ONE | MBU 3, LSUA 5

Laynie Bailey (4-0) led the Generals from the circle with a complete game and seven strikeouts. She allowed one earned run on six hits.

Sophia Romero and
Caitlyn Riche both recorded two hits, with Riche driving in two.
Â
The Generals (6-3) opened the scoring in the first inning with a sacrifice fly from
Haley Fontenot that brought in Romero.
Â
The Spartans tied the game in the third. In the fourth, Alohilani Bursey doubled home a run to take a 2-1 lead. Bailey held them scoreless for the final three innings.

Riche had a bunt single in the fourth that scored Rileigh Moran. A first and third double steal from
Hayden Cary and
Julia Kwakernaak gave the Generals a 3-2 lead.

Kaetlyn Dunbar added an insurance run with a sacrifice line out in the fifth.
Â
Riche's second RBI single of the game came in the sixth to make the final score 5-2 LSUA.

GAME TWO | MBU 13, LSUA 10
Â
Both offenses went to work in the back end of the doubleheader with a combined 24 hits.

The Spartans and Generals swapped runs in the second with a pair of RBI doubles from Camryn Kessler and Kwakernaak.
Â
Missouri Baptist plated three in the third, the first on a wild pitch and the second on a two-run double from Allison Leigraph.
Â
The Generals responded with a two-run single from Dunbar in their half of the inning to cut the deficit to 4-3.
Â
An RBI double in the fourth, Mikayla Johnson made the score 5-3 in favor of MBU. A sacrifice fly later in the inning gave the Spartans a 3-1 lead.

LSUA scored four in the fourth. Romero opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly before
Livie Thibodeaux stole home, and Fontenot launched a two-run blast to left center.

Another crooked inning in the sixth for MBU pushed across four runs for a 10-7 lead. An RBI single from Dunbar and two run double from
Molly Sistrunk tied the game at 10-10.

In the seventh Jacie Dees drove in a pair with a double before Brooklyn Fischer plated Dees.
Â
Despite bringing the tying run to the plate, Fischer sealed the victory with a groundout.
Â
Samantha Hayes (0-1) was charged with a loss. She allowed three earned runs on two hits and two walks over 1.1 innings.
