Softball Takes Two on Day Two of Generals Showdown

PINEVILLE, LA - The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team picked up a pair of wins over Central Baptist and Texas A&M Victoria.
 

 
GAME ONE | CBC 1, LSUA 5
The Generals (5-2) opened the scoring early, plating four runs in the first inning and another in the second, for a 5-1win.
 
The Generals started shaky in the first inning with an error that allowed Taviah Bradley to score.
 
LSUA responded in the bottom frame, loading the bases. Lainee Bailey drew a walk, which brought Haley Fontenot home to tie the score, 1-1. The Generals scored their second run on a single down left field from Julia Kwakernaak. Caitlyn Riche walked and forced Howell in to push the lead to 3-1. 
 
The Generals capped the first inning with a score on an RBI single down the left field line from Shelby Vitrano, scoring Bailey.
 
In the second inning, Bailey laced a single down the left field line to bring home Dunbar to put the Generals in the lead 5-1.
 
Bailey (3-0) held the Mustangs at bay, fanning eight hittersacross seven innings. She also had two RBI's at the plate. 
 
GAME TWO | TAMUSA 1, LSUA 3
Rylee Guillot (2-0) held down the win for the Generals, pitching six strikeouts across seven innings, her first career complete game.
 
TAMUSA beat the generals to the scoreboard in the first inning.
 
Moody opened the scoring with a double to left center, scoring Soileau, to tie the game. Bailey hit an RBI single to right field, which allowed Moody to cross home and put the Generals in the lead 2-1.
 
The Generals nailed in the lead during the third inning with an RBI single through the right side from Dunbar that drove in Fontenot.

The Generals host No. 16 Missouri Baptist in a doubleheader on Friday, February 13, at 2:00 PM.
