DALLAS – Former Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball player
Kashie Natt has been named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.
Natt has been a utility knife for the Bearkats this season as one of the team's leading scorers and the top rebounder. As the best defender in the league, he led CUSA in steals with 61 and was third in defensive rebounds at 5.84.
The Rayville, Louisiana product is close to averaging a double-double with 9.8 points and 8.3 rebounds in 20 CUSA games. His seven double-doubles rank fourth in the league this season.
Natt was also named third team All-CUSA and named to the all-defensive team.
During his tenure at LSUA, Natt earned two Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors, a Defensive Player of the Year title, two NAIA First Team All-American selections, and was named the NAIA National Player of the Year in 2024-25.
He also earned Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches Small College Player of the Year after averaging 19.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
The Bearkats play the winner o Western Kentucky and Kennesaw State on Friday, March 13, at 2:00 PM in the semifinal of the CUSA Championships.
