ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team finished off the sweep of Louisiana Christian University with a pair of wins, 8-0 and 3-0, on Senior Day to clinch the Red River Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship.

GAME ONE | LSUA 8, LCU 0
The Generals' (31-14, 23-4 RRAC) bats were hot early again. All eight runs came in the first three innings.

Lainee Bailey (16-5) opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, after throwing a nearly immaculate top of the inning, with a bases loaded walk.

In the second, Sophia Romero doubled on a bunt to score Alyssa Soileau. Kilee Moody followed with a single to right before Kaetlyn Dunbar drove in a pair with a single of her own.

Romero drove in two more in the third, tripling to right center. Moody then drove in Romero with a sacrifice fly.

Bailey held the Wildcats (22-23, 12-15 RRAC) hitless threw four innings before Lexi Broussard notched an infield single. After a second hit from Madelyn Burgoyne, Bailey struck out two of the next three hitters to seal the victory.

Haley Fontenot, Romero, Moody, and Dunbar recorded two hits each. Romero drove in three, while Moody and Dunbar plated two.

GAME TWO | LSUA 3, LCU 0
Rylee Guillot (9-0) went the distance in a complete game shutout, while the offense pulled ahead early to complete the sweep.

Guillot went all seven innings and allowed just three hits and three walks. She struck out four.

The Generals got to Olivia Falcon (10-8) in the first inning for the second consecutive game. Moody doubled home Romero before Sistrunk laced an RBI single for a 2-0 lead.

In the third, Bailey drove in Romero with a single to left. It was all the offense Guillot and the Generals needed as she kept the Wildcats off the board, forcing them to strand eight total runners on base.
