LECOMPTE, LA – The top-seeded Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team opened their Red River Athletic Conference Softball Championship run with a 19-2 victory over eight-seeded Southwest (N.M.).
Rylie Jeau Theriot collected two hits and drove in four runs for the Generals.
Kilee Moody launched a three-run shot in the first inning and
Lainee Bailey blasted a two-run bomb in the third.
The Generals scored four runs in the first, four in the third, and 11 in the fourth.
Haley Fontenot,
Sophia Romero, Moody,
Kaetlyn Dunbar, Bailey, and
Alyssa Soileau each notched a pair of hits each. Fontenot also drove in a pair. LSUA had 10 players record at least one RBI and 12 players score at least one run.
Rylee Guillot (10-0) notched the win in the circle. She tossed three innings and allowed just one run on two hits and two walks. She struck out one.
The Generals are scheduled to play Saturday, May 2, at 8:00 PM.
