ALEXANDRIA, LA – Louisiana State University of Alexandria Head Softball Coach Trent Partridge has resigned to become the head coach at NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana University.
"We are extremely grateful to Trent for his impact over the last four years," Assistant Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics

"LSUA is such a special place," Partridge said. "The leadership here is second to none and, from the very beginning, the people made it feel like home. Every recruit I've ever talked to has heard me say the same thing: this place is one big family. That's what makes a decision like this so difficult. The staff and administration have been nothing short of amazing and there's no doubt I'll miss the people and this place."
During his time at LSUA, Partridge coached 15 First Team All-RRAC selections, 11 Second Team All-RRAC honorees, and one All-RRAC Honorable Mention player. From 2024 to 2026, the

Lainee Bailey earned RRAC Co-Pitcher of the Year this past season. The Generals also had back-to-back RRAC Newcomer of the Year winners under Partridge with Dunbar taking home the honor in 2025 and
Sophia Romero claiming it in 2026.
Partridge was selected as the RRAC Coach of the Year twice, in 2025 and 2026. He and his staff earned ATEC/NAIA Region I Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2025 after leading the Generals to a 47-win season.
"I'm incredibly proud of everything we accomplished together, but what I'll cherish most are the relationships we built along the way," Partridge added. "Watching my players grow on and off the field has been the greatest bless of my time here."
Alongside conference honors, Partridges' players earned six NFCA NAIA Region I First Team All-Region honors, two Second Team All-Region selections, and one Third Team All-Region nod.
Four players have earned NAIA All-American honors. Baker and Kwakernaak were selected First Team NAIA All-American in 2025, while Fontenot earned the honor in 2024. Dunbar was named an NAIA Third Team All-American in 2026.
"Leaving isn't easy because LSUA has become home," Partridge said. "At the same time, I'm excited to begin a new chapter at Southeastern and chase another dream. I'll always be grateful for the opportunity LSUA gave me and for everyone who believed in me. They for the memories, the friendships, and the support, I'll carry them with me for the rest of my career."
