ALEXANDRIA, LA – Three Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball players earned Louisiana Sports Writers Association honors, LSWA announced.
Nominations for LSWA All-Louisiana teams are voted on by sports information personnel and media members across the state of Louisiana.
Kaetlyn Dunbar earned LSWA All-Louisiana First Team honors as an outfielder,
Lainee Bailey was named to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team as a pitcher, and
Sophia Romero earned LSWA All-Louisiana Honorable Mention as a utility player.
Dunbar posted a .425/.478/.719 slash line during her senior season with eight home runs. She totaled 26 total extra base hits. Dunbar drove in 60 runs and scored 51. She also stole 13 bases. Dunbar finished the season ranked 21
st in the NAIA in runs batted in and in the top 50 for slugging percentage and total bases.
The senior from Spring, Texas was named a Third Team NAIA All-American, First Team All-RRAC selection, RRAC Player of the Year, and NFCA NAIA Region I Second Team selection this season. Dunbar earned First Team All-RRAC and RRAC Newcomer of the year in 2025, as well as Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana First Team honors.
Bailey logged 144.1 innings on the season and compiled a 19-7 record. Bailey recorded an ERA of 2.18 and a WHIP of 1.34. She struck out 77 hitters over 31 appearances. She was a First Team All-RRAC selection and the RRAC Co-Pitcher of the Year. Bailey also earned NFCA NAIA Region I First Team honors.
Romero posted an average of .370 on the season with an on-base percentage of .451. Romero recorded 26 runs batted in and scored 58. She stole a team-high 48 stolen bases, placing her ninth in the NAIA. Romero earned an All-RRAC First Team selection and was the RRAC Newcomer of the Year. She was named an NFCA NAIA Region I First Team selection as a utility player.
