Baton Rouge, LA- The Generals took a break from conference play to take on D1 opponent Southern University. The Jaguars were able to protect their home court beating the Generals, 98-76.
Generals were able to keep up with the Jaguars on the night, only trailing them by 36-45 going into half-time. However, Jaguars player, Brion Whitley kept them in the game scoring 27 points, ultimately helping them seal the win over the Generals. On top of Whitley's big night, the Generals also turned the ball over 18 times which Southern was able to execute on, by scoring 20 of their 90 points off General turnovers.
LSUA was able to share the ball well tonight with everyone scoring. Leading scorer of the night was
David Favorite with 13 points and Favorite also led the Generals in assist with 6 of the Generals 14. Coming in behind Favorite was
David Brevelle who was able to add in 11 points of his own for the team.
On the defensive side, it was
Mitchell Seraille who led the Generals on the glass grabbing 12 of the Generals 35 rebounds. Generals were only outrebounded by the Jaguars by 4 boards (35-39).
The Generals will be back to conference play at home against Paul Quinn on December 15 at 7:00 PM.
